<p>Yep, turns out that simply wearing a particular shoe isn&#8217;t going to tone you up, help you lose weight, or make you more healthy.</p>
<p>The claims made by Sketchers that simply wearing their Shape-ups &#8220;toning shoes&#8221; will make you fit, have been found unsubstantiated by the Government.</p>
<p><strong>The moral of the story</strong>:  You can&#8217;t simply wear shoes and expect to get fit.  You need to exercise, eat right, and live a healthy lifestyle.  There are no short cuts to getting fit, folks.</p>

</p><p>Many people don’t really know how to exercise or where to begin. There are some basic things that you need to know about before you go on a hardcore workout; you need to know what kinds of workouts there are, how to tell them apart, and also what you need to do before and after your workout. Here are some basic exercise tips.</p>
<h2>Before Your Workout</h2>
<p>There are a couple of things that you need to do before you begin the actual workout. The first one is to stretch. Stretching serves two purposes, they are: to loosen up the muscles for a better workout, and to prevent injuries. Some injuries that can occur from not stretching include sprains and strains. If your muscles are in a normal, relaxed state and you abruptly put them in a different position, you are going to have some problems.<br />
A warm-up is also a vital part of the pre-workout routine. A warm-up helps your body get ready for exercise by “waking it up” in a sense. Your muscles will get prepared for a workout if you gradually ease them into the workout routine with a warm-up, making for a much better workout.</p>
<h2>Types of Workouts</h2>
<p>There are mainly two types of workouts. The first one I will tell you about is the aerobic exercise. An aerobic exercise, or cardio, benefits the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, or the cardiovascular system. Some exercises that fall under this category include: running, swimming, biking, or hiking. These workouts will get you breathing hard to improve your lung capacity, and your blood pumping to improve your body’s cardiovascular system. Treadmill companies have taken aerobic exercise to the next level by introducing new features that make your workout more effective and efficient. The other type of workout I want to discuss is strength training. The title pretty much tells it all. This exercise is done with the purpose of building muscle, or strength. <h2>After Your Workout</h2>
<p>The main thing you want to do after you workout is to have a cool-down. Just like a warm-up, you don’t want to make your heart rate change too quickly; you need to meet it halfway and ease it down to its regular level. A cool-down should last about 5 minutes and should be difficult enough to where your heart rate is still above its resting rate but not so high that it won’t ease down. A 5 minute cool-down walk is a good example of this.</p>
<p>Stretching after your workout is also a pretty smart thing to do so that your muscles will always stay loose and keep from getting too sore.</p>

<p>Swimming for fitness is a popular choice as it offers a full-body workout while putting less stress on the body.  This makes it ideal for all ages, body types and fitness levels.  It’s the perfect way to ease into an exercise regimen or expand on an existing one.  And with nothing more than a suit, a pair of goggles and a swim cap necessary to participate is relatively inexpensive as well.</p>
<p>Because water adds more resistance to your body than land workouts, it is a great way to build muscle strength as you work against that resistance.  And since swimming works the entire body, that resistance works equally on both the upper and lower body.  You can get your entire body working without putting undue stress on the skeletal system.</p>
